The history of Silvis would be remiss to not include our heroes. The young men and women from 2nd Street, now Hero Street, have served our country with honor and pride without question of heritage. Hero Street U.S.A. is only a block and a half long yet, in all wars and conflicts from World War II to the present, these brothers and sisters have served our country with pride and honor.

Hero Street Commemorative Coin Act
Congresswoman Cheri Bustos met with Hero Street representatives on May 22nd, 2015 in Silvis, to discuss a bill she submitted to Congress for a commemorative coin honoring Hero Street and the veterans. It was a round table discussion and a very relaxed forum.
Stories were told and history was shared, we thank Congresswoman Bustos for her time and generosity towards Hero Street and our fallen soldiers.
