Recycling Service
The City of Silvis has a curb side recycling program established with Allied Waste Management. Each resident in Silvis was given a recycling bin at the start of the program. New homes will have a bin delivered after they pay their meter deposit. The following items are accepted for recycling: 1) Newspaper and junk mail; 2) #1 thru #7 plastics; 3) Clean glass that is clear, green or brown; 4) Tin and aluminum cans and, 5) Cardboard sized 36"x36" or less 6) Everything must be clean. 7) Labels may be left on items. ALL LIDS MUST BE REMOVED

The City of Silvis will sponsor a double booth at Earth Day on April 17, 2010 at the QCCA Expo Center. Admission was free and activities were held both days. Click here for more 2009 images
